In order to preserve our positive school climate and encourage our scholars to make the best choices for themselves, instilling our SOAR model of excellence is a necessary factor.

These set of simple expected behaviors create a common language for students, staff and parents to utilize while they are at Woodland.  This creates a unified blanket of support for all.  Students learn the language, practice expected behaviors and can also become great encouragers and models for other scholars looking up to them!

 

By using restorative language such as, "Tell me what happend?" as opposed to, "What did you do wrong?" focuses not on the negative behavior a student may have done, yet a more empathetic approach focused on a solution and keeping our community intact.

 

And that is what we want to be about at Woodland. A focus on the positive and thriving future of each of our scholars.  One day at a time, one choice at a time, each of our scholars has the opportunity to succeed and SOAR to college and career readiness!
